Aims of Service

To provide a homely step-down placement alternative for individuals entitled to a least restrictive community care environment.

To develop individual care plans with overarching autism friendly and Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) approach, also including elements of TEACCH, SPELL, Sensory Sensitivities and Communication.

To work towards achieving agreed milestones valuing personal input into care and activity planning.

To assist individuals to develop future life plans, considering improved independence for possible placement beyond Waterstone.

Pioneer and develop service provision in collaboration with Kent and Medway and other professional bodies that are relevant to Waterstone fulfilling its objectives in line with the Transforming Care directive to reduce reliance on specialist in-patient services for people with a learning disability (LD) and or Autism.
